Cyanotype & Letterpress Workshop with Jay Fox

In this 2-day workshop on April 20th and 21st students will investigate and create cyanotype prints using contact printing and photograms. Cyanotype prints are painterly “blueprints” that allow layering of light and shadow. The possibilities of image-making can come from letterpress printed mylar film and layering cyanotype over letterpress printing. We will make films and sheets on day one, and add techniques on day two. The workshop will last from 1–5pm approximately each day.

The instructor, Jay Fox is from Morganton, North Carolina, and received his BFA in printmaking from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008. In 2014 he received his MFA at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Print and Narrative Forms. His work in handmade paper, prints, and sculpture has been exhibited nationally.
